Artistic Braille Book of Esther
To make the book artistic for the blind and visually impaired we placed a tactile graphic at the top of each page. The pic is no more than two inches tall and is done in repetitive pairs. The pic itself is only a geometric form, with the exception of the first and last graphic, which are crowns for a queen. The intent was to allow the braille reader to simply move their fingers across the picture without having to expend energy to determine what the picture is. Simply travel your fingers across and enjoy the feel of the patterned dots. Why two? You can do this with one finger across both or with one finger from each hand simultaneously. The idea is to create pleasure with the least amount of energy and stress as possible. As the picture changes on each page, this will hopefully provide happy anticipation and pleasure as a person moves through the book.
We placed the book into two volumes. This allows for easy use by the blind and visually impaired. Each volume is labelled and stored in a slip case so you can determine which volume you would like to access. We also send a booklet titled Artistic Braille Book of Esther Explained, which is in both text and grade 1 braille. This provides the details of why and how this book was created.
A person can order Esther in three different forms. The first form is English only with the tactile graphics. You can also order it adding either Hebrew without vowels or Hebrew with vowels, at no additional charge.
There are ten chapters in the Book of Esther. A title at the beginning of each chapter will inform the reader which chapter they are about to start, i.e. chapter one. Each verse is placed in a vertical sequence, chapter and verse title, ie. chapter one verse one. This is followed by the Hebrew of the verse, if you have ordered it with Hebrew, followed by a dotted line, and then the English translation of the verse. You will know when you come to the end of that verse by another dotted line.
The cost for the Artistic Braille Book Of Esther is $200. We accept check or debit card by Zelle. In this way we do not have access to your debit card number. We will mail the volumes to you through USPS.
